Internal audit provides independent safeguards and guidance to improve operations and help a company to achieve its objectives by systematically evaluating and improving risk management, control and corporate governance procedures.

The internal audit function is centralised at Russian Helicopters and is run by the Department of Internal Audit, which reports to the Board of Directors' Audit Committee. Internal audit activities are carried out both by Russian Helicopters and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies.

Mr. Serkov has been with Russian Helicopters since August 2011. Prior to this he held senior internal audit positions at Protek and Russian Post. He has experience working at international audit firms (BDO and KPMG). Mr. Serkov has been in the audit industry for more than 10 years. He holds professional certifications in internal audit (CIA) and corporate fraud examination (CFE).
